How Makimono works and how we handle your information.

1. Scope

根岸宏繁 provides Makimono, a reader for book files supplied by you, this website, and support. Makimono does not sell or distribute books. These terms supplement Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement where consistent with applicable law and Apple’s terms.

2. Content rights

Import only files you lawfully possess and have the right or permission to use. Copyright and other rights remain with their owners.

Cropping, editing, saving, and sharing must comply with copyright law, permissions, and the rules of the destination service. A feature’s availability does not grant permission to publish or redistribute another person’s work.

3. Free allowance and Pro

The free allowance is one series with unlimited volumes, plus ten standalone books. Further imports and certain features require Pro.

Pro is an auto-renewing App Store subscription. The purchase screen specifies the price, period, renewal terms, and any trial. Manage or cancel it in your Apple account’s subscription settings. Paid access normally continues through the paid period after cancellation. Apple handles refunds. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

When Pro ends, your books, bookmarks, and notes are not automatically deleted. If the library exceeds the free allowance, all books require Pro to open. Reduce the library to the free allowance to resume free reading. Paid settings operate within the available free features; saved preferences and existing locks are retained.

4. Storage and backups

Content and reading data are normally stored on your device. Optional iCloud features use your own Apple account’s storage. Network conditions, storage capacity, formats, and file condition may limit import or display.

Keep original files and important data backed up separately. Device failures, deleting the app, operating system changes, or your own deletions may cause data loss.

5. Prohibited use

Do not violate the law or others’ rights, gain unauthorized access, interfere with the service, send bulk support requests, or use the app or website for unlawful distribution.

6. Changes and responsibility

We may change or suspend features for maintenance, security, or legal compliance. We will notify you of material changes through the app or website where reasonably possible.

To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee operation with every file or device or uninterrupted availability. Nothing excludes liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or liability that cannot be excluded under consumer protection or other mandatory law.

7. Privacy and contact

Our Privacy Policy describes data handling. Contact support@makimono.xyz or use the support form for app, billing, or privacy questions.

8. Changes to terms and governing law

We will announce amendments and their effective dates on the website or in the app and obtain consent where legally required. Japanese law governs these terms, subject to mandatory rights under applicable law. Jurisdiction follows applicable law.
